Festival Concert #3
featuring the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra with Ramiz Guliyev
The Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra’s annual Global Soundscapes Festival is a rich feast of sound and rhythm, celebrating the intersection of traditional sounds and instruments from all over the world with contemporary classical music by Canadian composers. After producing digital versions of the festival in 2020 and 2021, the VICO is thrilled to once more be presenting it live and in-person this year! On the bill: the Vancouver Erhu Quartet, 88 Strings, Montreal’s innovative Ensemble Paramirabo, and featured international guest artist Ramiz Guliyev – a virtuoso on the Azerbaijani tar, who will make his first ever appearance in British Columbia with the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra, under the baton of his son, renowned conductor Ayyub Guliyev.
