In Response to Alabama

True stories about abortion presented with honesty and care.

Little Thief Theatre (Vancouver)
Created, written, and performed by Libby Willoughby, Miranda MacDougall, and Mariam Barry

Three performers share the stories of their abortions. In doing so, they take on the myth and stigma surrounding abortion and open a door for the audience to inhabit their lived experience. This work confronts one of our time’s most emotionally and rhetorically charged issues with nuance, honesty, and care for our performers, our audience, and their lived experiences.

Filmed by The Cultch’s Video Director Cam Anderson during its 2022 run in the Vancity Culture Lab, this RE/PLAY presentation of In Response to Alabama brings this intimate, powerful, and incredibly timely show to audiences everywhere.
