Le Centre culturel Francophone de Vancouver presents:

Louis-Jean Cormier
Coup de Coeur Francophone 2020

Louis-Jean Cormier is back on stage with his new album « Quand la nuit tombe » already nominated in five categories at the 2020 ADISQ Gala (Quebec’s Association of Music Industry and Recording): Album of the year – Critics’ choice | Album of the year – Contemporary | Songwriter or Composer of the year | Male singer of the year and Song of the year.

It isn’t the first time for Louis-Jean to be nominated and won coveted awards.

It started with the band Karkwa which won Felix Awards for “Best group” and “Best Album” in 2008, then the prestigious Polaris prize for Canada’s best new album in 2010. Gradually, the Karkwa phenomenon was extending beyond the borders of Quebec, as the group racked up a series of performances in prestigious venues in French speaking Europe and English-speaking Canada.

In 2012, Louis-Jean released his first solo album “Treizième étage” and won several Felix awards: “Songwriter-Composer of the year” as well as “Rock album of the year” and “Critics’ choice”. He was also rewarded at the 2013 Juno Award-winning “Best Francophone album of the year” prize. In 2015, for an audience of several hundred people at Club Soda in Montreal, he launched his second album “Les grandes artères”.

After a break of five years, Louis-Jean Cormier is back and ready to rock the stage again!
