The jokes—about gluten, real estate, yoga pants, transit, the CBC, kombucha, and the smell from the chicken factory—flow like craft beer along the Adanac bike path in summer.” – Kathleen Oliver, The Georgia Straight
I want to live there. East Van Panto: The Wizard of Oz is my new happy place. I’m going to see if I can just rent out one of the seats in the York Theatre for the duration of the run…This edition is one of the best.” – Colin Thomas
East Van Panto: Wizard of Oz is a Wicked good time” – JayMinter.com
Every year [East Van Panto] gets bigger and funnier, and the Wizard of Oz is no exception.” – Katie Gartlan-Close, Vancouver Presents
Oh, what fun, glorious fun! It’s the sixth year Theatre Replacement has done a politically and theatrically goofy, family-oriented panto and given audiences a chance to tap into their inner child. That inner child is free to boo and cheer, to holler “Oh, no you don’t” or “Look behind you” along with the kids. It’s a free-for-all and we love it.” – Jo Ledingham
In six short years, Theatre Replacement’s East Van Panto has become a Vancouver tradition, to the point where it’s hard to imagine the holidays without it.” – Adam Abrams, Vancouver Musicals
Witty and cleaver…An astounding success!” – Maira Hassan, The Vancouver Arts Review
