Elbow Room Café: The Musical

Zee Zee Theatre (Vancouver)
YORK THEATRE | 639 COMMERCIAL DR. | [map link]

MAR 1 – 12, 2017

York Theatre

A candid look inside Vancouver’s most iconic eatery: home of raucous service, celebrity sightings, and hearts of gold. Dave Deveau (My Funny Valentine) and Anton Lipovetsky (Broken Sex Doll) sink their teeth into the whimsy and heart of real life café owners Patrice and Bryan and explore how we age together in a Technicolour world.

THE DRAW: East Van Panto’s Allan Zinyk leads a cast of campy misfits, drag queens, and the perpetually hung over!

Exciting to see this homegrown Canadian musical get another life after an awesome workshop production at Studio 58. It’s as sweet as the Elbow Rooms pancake platter with loads of cream and syrup! Do yourself a favour and head to the real Elbow Room before or after seeing the show. I especially love that they have used the real Elbow Room restaurant (a fabulous Vancouver treasure) and it’s owners for source material. So looking forward to seeing it.
