TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival

Presented by Urban Ink & The Cultch | SEPT 24–OCT 3, 2020

Curated by Corey Payette & Heather Redfern

TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival is unlike any other festival in the world. With a focus on empowering Indigenous artists and encouraging collaboration with non-Indigenous artists, this unique festival builds relationships and brings communities together to create lasting social change and groundbreaking performance. We believe in a future that is more equitable for Indigenous peoples. By sharing stories, engaging in ongoing conversations, and building relationships we will further our collective efforts towards truth and reconciliation. Featuring local and international Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists in a variety of performance styles including theatre, music, drag, burlesque, circus, comedy, and everything in between.

This fall, a sensational line-up of artists will be taking over our stages for seven explosive days of bold, uncompromising, political, and interactive performances all created for a digital experience you won’t want to miss! This year’s festival will feature the return of our BASHES directed/hosted by Lisa Fa’alafi (Hot Brown Honey), opera and lycra loving award-winning cabaret sensation Le Gateau Chocolat, Indigenous comedian Candy Palmater, returning favourites Virago Nation and The Darlings, plus our core artists Quanah Style, Sierra Tasi Baker, Kimmortal, Leiah Luz, Chelsea Rose, and JB the First Lady!

Now, more than ever, TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival is a platform for IBPOC artists to self-determine the stories they share and how they want to share them with the world. We can’t wait for you to join us!

Experience as part of the Cabaret Cultch Subscription Box.
