Bird by Kylie Vincent

True stories about abortion presented with honesty and care.

Written and performed by Kylie Vincent (New York)

Part stand-up, part memoir, part fever dream.

Bird, written and performed by rising comedy star Kylie Vincent is equal parts stand-up, memoir, and fever dream and is about a Gen Z trainwreck soaring beyond her childhood trauma. This solo comedy show explores the challenges of being a young female-identifying stand-up while her past trauma continues to peck its way into the present.

From living out of her car and performing stand-up in dive bars across America to earning rave reviews at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and starring in a recently released Comedy Central special, Kylie Vincent is on a roll! Bird is her most personal show—taking an unflinching look at some tough themes and laughing through the hurt.

This digital version of Bird was recorded during its April 2023 run in Vancouver as part of The Cultch’s Femme Festival with video direction by Cameron Anderson, Cultch Digital Content Director, and support from RE/PLAY, The Cultch’s Digital Playground.

The Draw

“The usual idea of a comic making wry observations about the world we all share is abandoned as we are drawn into the sometimes dysfunctional and abusive world of her “white trash” family upbringing. This is edgy and very funny stuff.”
