YOUTH INITIATIVE PROGRAM
The Cultch has undertaken a Youth Initiative Program which includes an affordable ticket program for young people in Vancouver. This program is a result of the recognition that the arts in general, and The Cultch in particular must develop new strategies in order to address the needs of the younger generation of audiences (12-19yrs). We sincerely believe that, as a community arts centre, we must do more to accommodate young people.
The Cultch Youth Pass is distributed to youth between the ages of 12 and 19 through high schools, community centres and youth organizations upon request. The pass will enable students to buy at-door tickets to performances at The Cultch for just $5.00. The $5.00 charge will cover The Cultch’s box office service charges. From the presenter’s perspective, the Youth Pass tickets are essentially complimentary rush tickets.
How The Cultch Youth Pass Works:
1. Two (2) tickets are held at every performance at The Cultch for Youth Pass Holders. This means that even at sold-out shows, tickets will be available for Youth Pass holders.
2. Youth present their student ID at the box office on the afternoon/night of the performance. The pass cannot be used for advance ticket purchases. These tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting 1hr before Showtime.
3. Once all tickets are sold to Youth Pass holders, any additional pass holders will have the opportunity to purchase any unsold tickets immediately prior to the commencement of the performance at the $5.00 rate. There is no limit to the number of students who can attend a performance as long as tickets are still available; however in these instances people buying tickets at full price will always take priority.
MARKETING SUPPORT
The Cultch includes a limited amount of marketing support in its rental fees. All rental events are listed on The Cultch’s ticketing website along with a show image and company logo.
