The Historic Theatre and Vancity Culture Lab are housed at 1895 Venables St in a renovated church, constructed in 1909. The York Theatre at 639 Commercial Drive started its life as The Alcazar Theatre in 1913. After being rescued from the wrecking ball in 2013, it was renovated to become The Cultch’s third theatre space.
The Cultch is Vancouver’s most diverse and innovative arts and cultural hub. Since 1973, The Cultch has facilitated and presented consistently excellent, local, and visiting performances. It is recognized for its community leadership that models inclusivity and centres diversity as a lived value.

As a black box studio, all the lighting and audio technology is accessible from anywhere in the room. The seating system is comprised of moveable risers that can be set up to virtually any configuration that space will allow.
