Festival Support
Come and be a part of the Warrior Festival at The Cultch, where joy is an act of resistance and every artist is a warrior. Join us for boundary-breaking live performance that celebrates what matters. Combining razor-sharp comedy with bold and expansive theatre, the Warrior Festival invites you to be part of something bigger than entertainment.
Five transformative shows take centre stage at The Cultch’s York Theatre, Historic Theatre, and Vancity Culture Lab this spring.
The Warrior Festival opens on April 16 with Lxdy Parts: Babes, a riotous brew of sketch comedy and storytelling from Katey Hoffman and Cheyenne Mabberley.
APR 16–19, 2025
VANCITY CULTURE LAB
Dance Nation, a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama produced by The Search Party (Vancouver), headlines the festival with an extended run at the York Theatre. Clare Barron’s ferocious exploration of ambition, friendship, and female adolescence is “a brave, visceral, excitingly off-kilter barbaric yawp of a play,” (Vulture).
APR 23–MAY 11, 2025
YORK THEATRE
Hailing from Québec, acclaimed circus duo Agathe et Adrien literally and figuratively flip convention on its head with N.ormes. “It is at once a shared celebration of strength and an incredibly vulnerable act—a direct provocation of gendered conventions onstage and off,” notes The Scotsman.
APR 24–27, 2025
HISTORIC THEATRE
Love You Wrong Time by Bad Muse Collective (Toronto) confronts the fetishization of Asian women with hilarious standup comedy, music, and true stories; it’s a good time, with teeth.
MAY 01–11, 2025
HISTORIC THEATRE
The personal is political in Every Day She Rose: “A blazingly intelligent play that challenges our perceptions of race, communication, friendship, respect and how we deal with uncomfortable situations” (The Slotkin Letter). Don’t miss this bold, timely play by Andrea Scott and Nick Green, produced by Zee Zee Theatre (Vancouver).
MAY 01–11, 2025
VANCITY CULTURE LAB
These five works are fierce and funny. They strengthen acts of defiance with scenes of radical joy. The Warrior Festival celebrates the strength of women and gender-expansive artists who are reclaiming space, rewriting narratives, and advocating for justice from the stage to the street.
Together, let’s rebuild community and envision a liberated future.
Cue the rebellion, the show is about to begin.
