Участники лаборатории представят свои фантазии, этюды и сценические исследования по мотивам произведений Николая Гоголя. Мы попробуем заглянуть туда, где смешное неожиданно становится тревожным, а нелепое – удивительно точным.

Погрузимся в этот странный, мир, который Николай Васильевич придумал почти двести лет назад, – и который до сих пор подозрительно похож на наш.

Noses live lives of their own. Dead souls travel across Russia. Devils steal the moon from the sky. And officials are afraid of their own reflection.

Gogol’s world is simultaneously funny and terrifying, real and fantastical. And that is precisely why it remains so relevant today.

The workshop participants will present their fantasies, etudes, and stage explorations inspired by the works of Nikolai Gogol. We will try to look into the place where the funny unexpectedly becomes unsettling, and the absurd turns out to be strikingly precise.

Let’s immerse ourselves in this strange world that Nikolai Vasilyevich created almost two hundred years ago – and which still suspiciously resembles our own.
